Learning how you can increase one's goals slowly but surely is incredibly useful for the brain and physical stamina. Stamina is more practical in way of life than strength, although gymnasts have that they are strong too. This continuous improvement and sense that can be done something that most people cannot is very good for confidence. Children, particularly girls, frequently lack confidence, so practicing gymnastics would certainly help bring them outside themselves.
